Recently I've seen an explosion of hop flavored "things" on the market, including candies, cheese and a plethora of other products. Being an avid grower of 25 different varietals in the Hudson Valley for the last 12 years, I have experimented with a lot of ideas. I use them in baking breads, adding bitterness to dishes where it lacks and also creating hops bitters for cocktails. With some of this year’s harvest, me and a co-worker/good friend of mine Mathew Gray created a great autumn cocktail that brings back the brightness of summer while forecasting the colder months. Check out the recipe.

The Gin Hoppy
2oz. gin
.75oz Hop Simple Syrup
.5oz Lemon Juice
2 dashes hops bitters
1 hop flower
